US Foods today announced Steve Guberman will take on the role of Chief Merchandising Officer, effective immediately. Guberman previously held the role of Senior Vice President, Merchandising and Marketing Operations for the company.
“Steve has played an integral role in the implementation of all nationally led merchandising strategies and initiatives, and he is very well positioned for success as our Chief Merchandising Officer,” said Pietro Satriano, president and chief executive officer, US Foods. “Steve brings a unique customer-oriented perspective to his role, as he began his career in restaurant management. Guberman brings over 30 years of industry experience to this important role. Holding the role of Senior Vice President, Merchandising and Marketing Operations since January 2012, Guberman was responsible for the deployment and adoption of a range of merchandising and marketing strategies designed to accelerate profitable sales growth and help customers win.
Steve joined US Foods as part of the Kraft/Alliant Foodservice organization in 1991, accumulating a wide breadth of leadership experience in sales, procurement, marketing, national accounts, and category management before taking on the role of president of the US Foods Houston Division in 2006.
