The award is presented by Food Quality & Safety magazine and recognizes programs that have made significant improvements in food safety and quality assurance. US Foods accepted the award on July 26 at a special reception during the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting.

Each year, Food Quality & Safety magazine evaluates food safety programs at some of the leading food processors, suppliers and retailers across North America. One overall winner is selected by a panel of eight judges from academia, industry and regulatory to receive the Food Quality & Safety Award. This top honor showcases the company’s exceptional contributions to food safety, specifically highlighting its improved consumer satisfaction and business results. US Foods was recognized for its continued role as an innovative, industry leader in food safety practices. It was cited for excellence across all areas measured, including making significant investments in employee training and new and environmentally-friendly technologies.
